It’s a bird, it’s a plane…

There is a veritable marathon of flyovers by the International Space Station — brighter than ever, thanks to new solar panels added earlier this year — happening over the continental United States during the next several days. Definitely worth checking out.

For local flyby times and magnitudes (lower numbers are brighter), check out SpaceWeather.com’s Simple Satellite Tracker, or for more detailed info, Heavens Above.

And stay tuned: if all goes as planned, the Space Shuttle Endeavour will be joining the ISS next week. It’s set to launch on Saturday, dock on Monday, and undock on July 25. By then, we’ll be into a new ISS flyover marathon over the U.S. (And I’ll be a father of two. Hmm… Baby’s First Spacecraft Sighting?)
