Upon noticing a Facebook friend’s new profile picture of herself and her husband as a young couple in love, ~20(?) years ago, I was inspired to go find and post my all-time favorite picture of Becky and me, from almost 14 years ago. (Long-time readers might remember it from Defining Day of the Decade #7.)

It’s a spontaneous “selfie” – from long before “selfies” were a thing – taken on a hiking trail in Scotland on July 6, 2000, during the summer between our freshman and sophomore years in college. It was taken with a 640×480 resolution digital camera (that’s 0.3 megapixels, kids), a Mavica that stored its photos on floppy disks. About 21-24 per disk, as I recall.

It’s perfect.
