Three years ago Tiger won the British Open while hitting driver once in four days. His winning strategy was that distance was less important than staying out of vicious bunkers in links golf. Makes sense then that an old Greg Norman would do well last year and an even older Tom Watson would do well this year – old guys doing well may be the new normal at the British, given the relatively lower importance of power at those courses.
