Ugh. I hate this about modern media types. That’s not technically wrong . . . but so misses the stupid point.
B Minich – when CBS quoted Obama, did the story say *who* in the various parties should tone down the rhetoric ?
I would find it entirely plausible that Obama would be asking the critics in *both* parties to tone down their rhetoric …
After all, dissent from Teh Narrative is not to be permitted …
According to Politico (which seems to have all the direct quotes), this is what Obama said:
“I do think that everybody has a responsibility — Democrats or Republicans — to tone down some of this rhetoric, some of these comments”.
Sounds pretty straight forward to me! Plus, it is the Politico article linked to . . . FROM THE DRUDGE REPORT!
So I’d say yes, this is a technically accurate misrepresentation.
