Some dozen years ago I had occasion (namely, the occasion of paying for my Pint in Punts 😉 to ask a hotel barman in Killarney (I think it was here — Brendan? Recall?) how he thought the then-impending transition, from the ould Punt Éireannach to the Euro, was going to Go.
Never one to punt on a vexed question, yer man firmly replied: “Ohhh it’s goin’ t’ be Fierce.”
Upon which prediction I herewith Rest my Case for both the Wit & the Wisdom of the Irish. ;}
