Sadly, denial is a bipartisan phenominon. There are realistic conservatives like Michael Medvid, Karl Rove, and National Review who understand that many of the Tea Party backed candidates were very weak and in the case of NV and CO, not necessarily all that much more conservative in practice than the establishment Republicans they beat. On the other hand, there are kool aid drinkers like Mike Gallagher who blame the DE debacle on Mike Castle for not acting like a real Republican. Limbaugh blamed the NV loss on the NRSC not providing Angle with a ground game, which may or may not be correct, but he’s obviously missing the point that a stronger candidate probably could have beat Reid with or without a ground game.
