Well, the Federation, representing all that is good and honorable is clearly LSU. The treacherous, deceitful Romulans would probably be Alabama, though I could be convinced of a few others as well.

I’d argue that the Romulans fit better as Auburn. Bama has been relevant longer, much like the Klingon Empire. Sure, the Romulans were there in TOS. But the Klingons had been challenging the Federation for National Titles for much longer and much more consistently then Auburn.

Though I’m not sure how that works in TNG, with the Kingons being allies of the Federation. But in TOS, it works: one a second tier empire with a future. The other, THE big kid on the block.

So, who are the SEC Vulcans? Vandy, since they are the smartest school in the SEC? Not sure where to put them.

Alabama may be the Klingons, but Nick Saban is without question a Ferengi. 🙂

Actually, perhaps Alabama is the Borg, with Saban their Locutus-like, assimilated-Ferengi leader.

In which case I suppose Florida is the Klingons?

Since Saban is a Borg-assimilated Ferengi, I’m afraid Matt is wrong, and LSU is the Ferengi… greedily lusting after the 2003-04 AP title like so many bars of gold pressed latinum. 😉

Ole Miss is, of course, the Rebel Alliance, stuck in the wrong nerdy space travel universe. #ITSATRAP!!!

Florida isn’t honorable, look at all the criminals on their team. Florida is definitely the Romulans.

Also LSU can’t be the good guys, as evidenced by the whole USC AP Trophy bitterness. On the other hand they are one of the few SEC schools thats not scared to play away games, so maybe there is some good in them after all, with just a touch of corruption in their past.

    Vandy are DEFINITELY the Vulcans.
