Born on the Fourth of July? Nope.

In case anyone was wondering, Becky and I are still the parents of two daughters, not three, at last check. 🙂 No baby yet, nor any real signs of impending labor. (When there is news, it will probably appear on my Twitter stream first.)

Because the Baby Pool guesses were heavily weighted toward the holiday weekend — even though the baby isn’t due until this Friday — almost half of the field in the Third Biennial Loy Baby Pool has already been eliminated from the date & time portion of the contest (the weight & length portion, of course, is still wide open). The following contestants are still mathematically alive:

NOTE: The “window” is the period of time during which each contestant would win the pool, if the baby was born then. (When the same time appears in two “windows,” that would be a tie, broken by weight and length predictions.) The “size” is the length of the window, i.e., how long is the period of time in which that contestant would win.)

Lisa Velte: 7/5/11 10:11 AM (window: 7/5/11 4:58 AM to 7/5/11 9:05 PM) (size: 16:07)

You do realise that the person who will most accurately win the prediction pool is the baby, herself, with the prediction “When I am good and ready, thankyouverymuch !” … (grin)

Heh. True that. Although, based on presently known information, I would probably install you as the Vegas favorite to win the Baby Pool — despite your narrow time window — followed by Evana, Keri and Larry, then David, Roger, Rosalie and Jenna.

    Hmmmm …

    Noon-time C-section being planned for July 12 ?

Or a torrid encounter while daughters #1 and #2 are baby-sat at the morning local Orange Parade by Venerable Grandpa ? (grin)

Oh – the Pitocin – cervix-ripening – from not-quite-first-hand experience, even Pitocin won’t magically ‘flip the switch’ until the kid is sufficiently ready … (and it (oxytocin aka Pitocin) is also produced during successful torrid encounters, anyway) …

I’ll just say this: Loyacita was born 5 days late after being induced with Pitocin.

We shall see what happens with this one. No news yet. Sorry, AMLTrojan. Sorry, Josh. Jenna, you are on the clock!

So – are preparations in place to live-blog and podcast the labour and delivery ? (grin)
