Musings on Boehnermageddon

I wonder if John Boehner, having today suffered his latest utter humiliation in a long series of escalating utter humiliations (not the least of which was being effectively usurped as House speaker last month by Senator Ted Cruz), will, promptly after he sees this crisis through to the end, resign his speakership, and maybe his congressional seat too.

I suppose probably not. Everybody says he loves being speaker. (Although, under the circumstances, I really can’t fathom why.) But at some point, don’t you have to say enough is enough?

Of course, if Boehner did resign, the battle to replace him would be fascinating, and probably terrifying. #PANIC!

But anyway, I’m just musing out loud here.

(I was going to muse some more – about the state of the GOP, and FreedomWorks, and Senator Mike Lee – but after writing it all out, I thought better of publishing it. What I wrote was just going to offend some people, including friends, without achieving anything. There’s a reason I’m on #hiatus right now. Sigh.)

Good night.
