This race amazes me. The Dems shouldn’t be losing the Liberal Lion’s seat, especially at this critical junction for health care.
How could this have been avoided? There’s a tricky question. The best option should have been enacted months, or even years ago. Ted Kennedy should have stepped down and endorsed a successor himself. This would have probably ensured a favorable outcome. Who goes against a Kennedy in MA and wins?
Failing that, how did they get such a bad candidate? It seems to me that MA should have plenty of able Dems to step into this role. As a political junkie, thus race facinates me because there is no way the GOP should be close for thus seat!
